Well... I figured I may as well update this since it's been entirely too long - it appears once again I've let it get away from me and my blogging skills are not so good.
Kashtyn is in fact, almost 18 months. We've been very blessed as we are all healthy, employed and doing well. Christmas was a great time, Kashtyn enjoyed it much more this year than last.
He's growing well, still very tall, skinny and a large head :) He is saying about 15-20 words: Daddy, Mommy, More, Again, Bath, Ball, football, Doggie, No, Hello, Baby, Uh Oh, Bye Bye, Mickey, Bubbles. He really likes to read and he LOVE's mickey mouse. He got lots of Handy Manny for Christmas, so that's been a hit too!

Can't believe our little guy is almost 1 year old!! He for some reason took off crawling a couple weeks ago and now is doing it like crazy. He's faster and faster everyday and just this weekend he started really pulling himself up on everything! He also crawled his way up his first flight of stairs at Grandma and Grandpa Foshers while he and Dad were there for branding. He has been eating and sleeping well - so all is great! Found a Dr. in Rapid City so will be going there in a couple weeks for his checkup!
Things are going well in CHadron, we are super busy and trying to get settled in our appartment. Its really not too bad, it's just a little loud with high school football camps going on now. Other than that, it's life as usual here in Chadrock.

We're in Chadron
The past month has been absolutely crazy!! Obviously by the title, we are in Chadron! Our prayers have been answered. We both got the jobs we wanted, Casey has been named the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls club. I just found out last week that I got the Resident Director job at Kent Hall Chadron State College. We are so blessed. Casey started today, I start June 1st, until then, lil man and I aren't doing much! They let us move our stuff in a couple dorm rooms accross from our appartment so we don't have to move it all again - which is great. We are staying in a suite in Edna work hall for a few more weeks, such a nice thing they did that so we didn't have to rent a motel room.
I am so glad that we are going to have more time to ourselves and of course, not live somewhere so big and expensive!
Kashtyn is getting so big - he is 11 months old and just growing like a weed. Thankfully the past month hasn't fased him. he is sleeping great, happy as ever. In fact, he's getting his 3rd tooth and this time he's not fussy at all! He is really talking up a storm, in fact he Said THANK YOU at daycare this last Tuesday. He's says Mommy and Dadda lots but doesn't know really what they mean. He also said Uh-Oh.
He's trying to walk ALOT!! He loves his walker :) He doesn't really want to crawl - he army crawls and although we catch him doing it normally - I guess its faster the other way because he justdrops his belly and goes :) He is 21 lbs 6 oz. I can't believe how fast the lil bugger is growing!!

Here we are in April already!!!
Our trip to Florida was really nice!! Kashtyn did wonderful on the flights. Slept 3 of the 3.5 hours there and we had a layover on the way back - and our flight left at 4 am. It was interesting, but he's a trooper. We took him to the beach in Ft. Lauderdale. He hated the ocean (it was pretty cold water there). However, as you can see from the video below.... the pool was a hit!
Kashtyn is now doing the "worm" he doesn't actually crawl on his hands and knees... he rocks on them and then decides to just pull himself everywhere and forget about the legs :) He's been doing it for a couple weeks now (since his 9 month apt March 23rd)... before we know it we will be wishing he couldn't walk.
His second tooth is thru, so we are done with the fever, terrible sleeping, runny nose crap for a while. The past few nights, we've even gotten more than 3 hours of sleep at a time! He's learning this high pitched squeal thing - not so fun so we are going to try to un-learn that this weekend :)
We got back from FLA on Tuesday, and this week has been lllooooonnnnggggg!!!! Grandma Linda is in the hospital in Chicago (for those who didn't know). It's a whole long story but they admitted her to check on her heart (she was there for a checkup) after the wonderful Doctors in Lusk did not correctly diagnose her a couple months ago for heart failure (they kept saying pneumonia). Anyhow, we are all praying for her and that everything is ok.
Nothing else new from this end - hope you are all doing well. The next month is going to be crazy with Easter and the Spring game - so we hope to see everyone soon!

9 Month Apt - March 23rd
Well - Kash had his Doc apt yesterday for 9 months. Got a shot and a heal poke and everything was great. He weighed 19 lbs 8 oz (30th %) and was 30 inches (90%)... long and skinny!!
Doctor also said that it wasn't a worry that he wasn't crawling. All kids learn because they need/want to. Everything is driven by this. So he hasn't needed to crawl to something apparently because we get it for him! Same with talking - if he already gets everything he needs, he doesn't have a reason to learn words :)
SOO... last night we decided to put Dad's cell phone in front of him for motivation - sure enough, he could crawl all along :) He pulled himself right over there! Little bugger. Well now we know he can :)

It's March already!!!
I can just hardly believe it's March already!! We have been doing really well. This week has been a little rough but it will get better!! Kashtyns daycare lady (denise) quit on us unexpectedly about 2 weeks ago. After a lot of searching, we found a new home for him with a little italian lady from Boston. She has been great so far and very helpful! To make matters worse, we had a little drama with Denise this week (As she was to watch him thru wednesday and bailed on us the last minute) but we are thinking this is the best thing for Kashtyn for numerous reasons we didn't know before, even though the change is hard.
Kashtyn did start with Sabrina on Thursday. He did fine the first day, but since it's been kind of hard for him. Of course this little guy has lots of changing but it breaks Mom and Dad's hearts that he is so upset. After a few weeks, he will get used to it, but he's been pretty upset with Mom and Dad for leaving him somewhere new :)
Kashtyn got his first tooth!!! Yep, one popped thru about a week ago and now it completely on it's way. I think that has a lot to do with his TERRIBLE sleeping lately :) we are hoping it gets better, although I'm sure he has more of those little buggers on the way!
We are getting closer to crawling every day. He rocks on his hands and knees, so I'm sure in a month he will be terrorizing the house!! We had a little crash the other day when he pulled my camera on top of his head (and it's not light), but he made it thru!
Casey has an interview with the Boys & Girls Club in Chadron on the 21st - although they might be moving it up earlier. It seems like this might be a good time to be getting out of here, work hasn't been so smooth for me lately, it would be a great change and a good change of pace in a smaller town, so keep us in your prayers. We will let everyone know as soon as we do!!!
The last weekend in March we are headed to Florida!! Yep, I can't wait for some sun. Casey is headed out for a tournament for work, and since we are hoping it might be one of his last trips, he figured I might as well go. The suite at the motel, rental car and his ticket are all free, so for barely anything, Kashtyn and I will tag along for some time on the beech. First time to the ocean!! YEAH!!
I am headed to Denver for the weekend for my best friend Abbey's Bridal shower and Bachelorette Party. I am so excited - Casey is too as he has a little boys' weekend :) He thinks him and Kashtyn will watch basketball all weekend while Mom is gone, Kashtyn might not be too excited about that one!

Well, there isn't much new on the home front here. Kashtyn is going on his 4th cold, it's ridiculous. I honestly can't believe how sick he has been getting. I know they say it's normal to have this many colds, but he just got over one a week ago!!
Kash is not really crawling, and everyone keeps asking. He has much more interest in walking. He wants us to hold his hands and let him walk. We are trying really hard not to and encouraging him to crawl, I hope it works!
He is eating more and more solids, he doesn't like peas so much. He threw up on us 2 times in one night when we were trying the peas, I hope it was just the texture and he's not as picky of an eater as his mom!!!
Casey is still waiting to hear from Chadron on the Boys and Girls Club job. We have all of our fingers AND toes crossed on this one. It would be such a possitive change for our family. We need to get out of Ft. Collins. It may be beautiful here, but I dont know many people who can comfortably raise a family here! And, it's just no longer worth it, we want something more simple.
Both of us are extremely frustrated at our jobs, Casey continues to work his butt off only to be the lowest paid employee at TCS and with no encouragement on how good he is doing. I continue my boredom every day and have no direction as to my future or what they expect of me. Hopefully it will all come to an end soon :)

New blog
Thank you all for visiting our blog. We decided it might be nice to keep everyone updated on our ever changing little man (Kash) and what's going on in our "world". He's 8 months old tomorrow, can't hardly believe it!
Kashtyn seems to really be changing every single day. It's amazing the little things he learns and how he's really becoming quite the little person! He isn't crawling yet, although he is trying very hard. His interest seems to be in walking and if you hold his hands, that's exactly what he does. He is getting over his latest cold (yes his 3rd already). He is coughing still, but all else seems pretty good. His understanding for words is really beginning to advance. He is learning what "up" means and we are hoping soon he starts waving bye bye, but for now, that's another day.
He loves eating cheerios, but other than that, he doesn't have a big interest in food. He is WAY to busy to eat - are you kidding me. Daycare has been going fabulous, many days I think he is bored with us and wants to be at daycare with his friends. Over the past weekend, we enjoyed a visit from Grandma Spahn, Aunt Steph and Cousin Carter. He LOVED to stare at Carter, they were quite amazed with eachother. It was pretty fun to see them together, just wait a year and they will be into all sorts of trouble together. They prove my point every day that Kashtyn doesn't stand a chance at being an only child ;)
Mom and Dad are doing good for now. Both of us are really ready for a change, but for now, we are happy with the everyday blessings we have. Great family, the best friends anyone could ask for and a happy and healthy little man to keep us entertained and the mood light!
